I was shooting a scene in my new film, No Strings Attached, in which I say to Natalie Portman, “If you miss me. you can’t text, you can’t email, you can’t post it on my Facebook wall. If you really miss me, you come and see me.” I began to think of all of the billions of intimate exchanges sent daily via fingers and screens, bouncing between satellites and servers. With all this texting, emailing, and social networking, I started wondering, are we all becoming so in touch with one another that we are in danger of losing touch? It used to be that boy met girl and they exchanged phone numbers. Anticipation built. They imagined the entire relationship before a call ever happened. The phone rang. Hearts pounded. “Hello?” Followed by a conversation that lasted two hours but felt like two minutes and would be examined with friends for two weeks. If all went well, a date was arranged. That was then. Now we exchange numbers but text instead of calling because it mitigates the risks of early failure and eliminates those deafening moments of silence. Now anticipation builds. Bdoop. “It was NICE meeting u” Both sides overanalyze every word. We talk to a friend, an impromptu Cyrano: “He wrote nice in all caps. What does that mean? What do I write back?” Then we write a response and delete it 10 times before sending a message that will appear 2 care, but not 2 much. If all goes well, a date will be arranged. Whether you like it or not, the digital age has produced a new format for modern romance, and natural selection may be favoring the quick-thumbed quip peddler over the confident, ice-breaking alpha male. Or maybe we are hiding behind the cloak of digital text and spell-check to present superior versions of ourselves while using these less intimate forms of communication to accelerate the courting process. So what’s it really good for? There is some argument about who actually invented text messaging, but I think it’s safe to say it was a man. Multiple studies have shown that the average man uses about half as many words per day as women, thus text messaging. It eliminates hellos and goodbyes and cuts right to the chase. Now, if that’s not male behavior, I don’t know what is. It’s also great for passing notes. there is something fun about sharing secrets with your date while in the company of others. think of texting as a modern whisper in your lover’s car. Sending sweet nothings on Twitter or Facebook is also fun. in some ways, it’s no different than sending flowers to the office: You are declaring your love for everyone to see. Who doesn’t like to be publicly adored. Just remember that what you post is out there and there’s some stuff you can’t un-see. But the reality is that we communicate with every part of our being, and there are times when we must use it all. When someone needs us, he or she needs all of us. There’s no text that can replace a loving touch when someone we love is hurting. We haven’t lost romance in the digital age, but we may be neglecting it. In doing so, antiquated art forms are taking on new importance. The power of a hand-written letter is greater than ever. It’s personal and deliberate means more than an email or text ever will. It has a unique scent. It requires deciphering. But, most important, it’s flawed There are errors in handwriting, punctuation, grammar, and spelling that show our vulnerability. And vulnerability is the essence of romance. It’s the art of being uncalculated, the willingness to look foolish, the courage to say, “This is me, and I’m interested in you enough to show you my flaws with the hope that you may embrace me for all that I am but, more importantly, all that I am not.” - Ashton Kutcher Something I found real and interesting.. That's why I made you write to me :) signing off, 1.17pm

-J'adore ses beaux yeux noirs.
-Hum...pas mal, mais moi, je préfére les yeux marron.
-I love her beautiful black eyes.
-Hum...not bad, but me, I prefer brown eyes.
I have black charcoal eyes. Black. Very black. But I do really love to have brown eyes. Blue, grey and other colours don't really suits me, coz my hair colour is really dark--black. Blue'll make me looks trying-so-hard/ang mos wanabe -.-
Dying hair colours will probably solve the 'problem' but it requires high maintenance. Imagine horrible black roots growing out, I'll have to keep touching it up... Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'argent (I dont have enough $$, poor student).
Ahem. So yea.. I dont have to plug my eyes out to change my eyes colours, a lil help from some colour plastics will do :p
Coloured contact lenses, guide to become pretty (or prettier) 101!!
There is no such things as "natural beauty", well, maybe there really is but it doesn't happens on me. I have wide (considered as?) collection of brown lenses. Circle lenses, colour lenses are all basic necessity of mademoiselle nowadays, where, you can still look good without make-ups on ♥
I bet every girl is familiar with Geo, Dueba, Eos.. right? (don't lie :p)
So, I choose to wear natural brown lenses without the scary outer black ring nowadays. They give me brownies eyes with slight enlargement, and also makes my eyes look attractive (yea?) :)

Circle lenses with black outer ring used to be my favourite, they enlarged my eyes instantly, I can have big dolly brown eyes yay!
My favourite circle lens, would wear it for functions where I wanted to look good in pictures, ie: Prom.

However, they looks kinda fake, covering up the white areas on my eyes, very Ju-On liked :p No idea who Ju-On is? Utilize the Google search engine s'il vous plait. I would like to pose a picture of it initially but it gives me goose bumps :p So, no no, pas sympa.

Dueba barbie brown ♥, the pair of lenses that Angelababy wears in the picture below.
Pretty? I really love them a lot, but it expired. Although these lenses were said to have a year lifespan but I'll discard them after two to three months for hygiene purpose. This pair is extremely difficult to get as the manufacturer stop producing. Anyone selling it kindly leave a comment, merci beaucoup :)
Gothic 3 tones brown; the closest substitute that I could get to replace my dueba barbie brown. I wear this pair almost everyday ♥
I used to purchase this monthly lenses from Freshkon, wisdom brown. Pretty dark chocolate that blends really well with my dark colour eyes but it's a bit costly compared to others.
Another of my favourite from Eos, max pure brown, something in between of big black ring and natural 3 tones ♥
Maxi Eyes brown from optical shop, the pair that caught chéri's eyes ♥
♥ it max :D

I have heard enough rumours and cases of getting blind after wearing contacts, I'm pretty afraid to try out brands like Dueba, Geo that sold widely online at first, thus, I start with Freshkon, a more reliable brand that you could obtain in any optical outlets.
After trying to wear Geo and others and I'm still not blind yet, I started wearing them more frequent now. Hygiene is very very important, always keep your hands clean and dry when contacting with your lenses.

Before getting know that brown is my colour, I did also tried out others. Never try, never know right?
However, I wear my brown specs most of the time. Trying to cut down on contact lenses now, wearing lenses for too many hours in a day will make my eyes dry.
Eye drops from Alcon. I'll store a few stripes in my cute Kitty case for hygiene purpose :)
My love for brown eyes don't stop here.

Chinese new year happy.. Most start to work, classes today. Parents and elder brother are very reluctant to wake up and go to work this morning. Lucky me who still happily enjoying my sem break and younger brother who just finished his SPM last December currently at home shaking his legs.
Je ne veux pas travailler!!!!!!!! (I don't wana work)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdrE1MYQ3Mg&feature=related a song by Pink Martini; a very cute one :)
The appearance of ne....pas in a sentence normally show negativity.
for example:
I like the rain.
J'aime la pluie.
I don't like the rain.
Je n'aime pas la pluie.
See the ne....pas and a verb in between? when two vowel meets (ne aime), the e is replaced with a ' ; thus, n'aime.
By the way, there are a few degree of "likeness" and "hateness" in french.
J'adore - J'aime beaucoup - J'aime bien
I adore is the highest degree of likeness, followed by I like very much and lastly, I like well.
J'ai horreur de - Je deteste - Je n'aime pas du tout
I'm horror of is the maximum hatred, followed by I hate and lastly, I don't like at all.
Besides, the answer to a positive question and negative question is as follows:
Tu aimes la pluie? (you like the rain?)
-Oui, j'aime. (yes, I like)
-Non, je n'aime pas. (no, I don't)
Tu n'aimes pas la pluie? (you don't like the rain?)
-Si, j'aime la pluie. (yes, I like the rain)
-Non, je n'aime pas. (no, I don't like)
Oui and si both means yes but it is used in different type of question. To a positive question, we'll use oui but to a negative question, si is used to reject the negative statements.
Please note that only Asians will say "no, I like the rain"; westerners will say "yes, I like the rain" when answering a negative question like "you don't like the rain?".
Confused?
Alright, another example "you don't like the rain?" , Asians will say "Yes, I don't like" but westerners will say "No, I don't like". Got me now? haha.
Oh ya, and why j'aime but tu aimes, with an extra "s"? The conjugation of french is different from english. In english, it'll be I like, you like, he likes, she likes, we like, they like; plural without s n singular with s (I exceptional). In french, every of them is different (die, have a lot to memorized).
Original word : Aimer (to love)
I - J'aime
You - Tu aimes
He/She - Il/Elle aime
You (formal) - Vous aimez
We - Nous aimons
They - Ils/Elles aiment
Headache much haha. Imagine so many words more to conjugate...
Life's 25 Toughest Questions - continued.
Question 3: Can a marriage survive betrayal?
Yes. It takes time and work, but experts are pretty unanimous on this one. In her book The Monogamy Myth, Peggy Vaughan estimates that 60% of husbands and 40% of wives will have an affair at some point in their marriages. (Yan: omg really?)
That's no advertisement for straying - but the news is good for couples hoping to recover from devastating breaches of trust.
The offended partner needs to make the choice to forgive - and learn to live with a memory that can't simply be erased.
Infidelity is never forgotten, but it can gradually fade into the murky background of a strong, mature marriage.
Yan : Will you ever forgive your partner who have an affair with others? Will you accept the betrayer of his/hers and start all over again without ever mention about it?
To be or not to be: that is a question. Être ou pas être, tel es la question.
